New Release Te Motu 2006

We have just released our 2006 Vintage Te Motu at a release price of $70 per bottle for orders received before the end of July 2010 after which the standard price will be $89.

Te Motu 2006 shows all of the qualities we have come to expect from Te Motu wines, including an outstanding expression of Cabernet Sauvignon and complexity from blending small components of Merlot, Syrah, Franc and Malbec. Te Motu 2006 is beautifully fragrant, deep and dark with rich flavours of currants, plum and hints blackberry. It has a luscious mouth feel and an extraordinarily long palate. It is delicious to the last drop. It is ready to drink now but will continue to develop and cellar well for many more years.

The 2006 shows the sweet fruit and rich opulence of 1993, 1996, 1998 and 2002 compared with, for example the raw power of the 1994 and 2005.

All of the Te Motu’s are still drinking well. Our first wine the 1993 simply astounds me. I thought it would have peaked by now but each time I try it opens new doors of deliciousness and a new peak.
