Tasting Notes:
Blended from traditional Bordeaux grape varieties, matured in French oak casks, yielding full flavoured but elegant red wine, for early and easy drinking enjoyment. A super wine, drinking very well at this time, but will continue to improve with age for 2-3 years. A testimony to the team who worked tirelessly in the vineyard all season to make very fine wine from a very difficult vintage.

2011 was a challenging vintage with plenty of rain throughout the growing season. Even those best producers who managed yields and vine canopy effectively had to deal with disease pressure. Te Motu started crop thinning early and spent a huge amount of time in the vineyard working towards harvesting sound grapes with ripe varietal expression. Such is our commitment to quality, in 2011 we did not make any Te Motu or Dunleavy Single Vineyard. Only the best parcels were hand harvested and sorting was mandatory.
